2nd Fifth Avenue All Family Summit

Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services recently held its 2nd Fifth Avenue All Family Summit. Teams from Primoris Credentialing Network, 5ACVO, and Fifth Avenue Agency convened in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to honor long-serving members and celebrate the company’s continued growth.

1st Quarter Summit Recap

Our 1st Quarter Summit came on the heels of the COVID-19 public health emergency. The pandemic threw the entire world into disarray, but we soldiered on.

Our 1st Quarter Summit recognized our:

    • Family members who have 10+ years of service
    • COVID-19 MVPs
    • Founding partners
    • Unprecedented success despite the pandemic

Our 2nd Fifth Avenue All Family Summit continued the tradition of awarding longevity and success.

    Fifth Avenue Family Tenure Awards

The relationships we form are essential to us. Without them, our core values are just words. Our service awards can build and maintain connections between our family members and what they do. Recognizing their efforts to demonstrate our values can encourage the company to follow their lead. Many companies need help to recruit employees who are capable and committed. Investing time and energy and finding these valuable people sometimes fails to yield a significant return, not so in our case.

We want to acknowledge the contributions of our family members who have displayed loyalty, proficiency, and enthusiasm for their jobs. The Fifth Avenue Family Tenure Awards recognize the length of service, trust, and expertise from experience. These awards celebrate our team members who have 10+ years of service.

Fifth Avenue Healthcare Family Tenure Awards

The Fifth Avenue family members who received this award this quarter are:

      • Joe Spann, Sr., 15 years
      • Michelle Seba, 10 years
      • Kathleen Whitty, 14 years

In addition to serving as Director of Finance/HR at Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services, Joe Spann Sr. is an Associate with the Motor Racing Outreach Association. Working with the non-profit organization aligns with his faith and passion for racing. Michelle Seba CPMSM CPCS has spent 10 out of 30+ years in the industry with us. In 2011, she joined our family and helped lay the foundation for the credentialing policies and procedures we still use today. CVO Specialist Kathleen Whitty has 10+ years of healthcare industry experience, which has seen her amass remarkable expertise. Her rapport with our clients is second to none.

      The Founding Partners

We expressed our gratitude to our founding partners, Chairman Mr. Jim Feist, CGO Guy C. Feist, COO Brad Bond, and CEO Joe Spann.

In 2010, Joe Spann and Brad Bond met Guy Feist at a Medical Group Management Association conference. Joe and Brad had recently launched the Physician Management Assistance Group, a trailblazing company that provided credentialing via a new delegated model. Guy and his father, Jim Feist, founded Fifth Avenue Agency, which became Oklahoma’s premier malpractice insurance solution.

The quartet realized they shared ambitions to offer forward-moving services to Oklahoma physicians. The Physician Management Assistance Group performed credentialing according to its innovative model. Fifth Avenue Agency managed medical malpractice insurance with incomparable knowledge and understanding.

Joe Spann, Brad Bond, Guy Feist, and Mr. Jim Feist are the founders of Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services

The four founders found that credentialing and medical malpractice underwriting served risk management. Both practices use the same data, ask many of the same questions, and help the same types of clients. Combining the deep healthcare management experience of the Physician Management Assistance Group with the first-rate client service of Fifth Avenue Agency was the most logical step in the men’s careers.

Launching Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services and guiding it to be a leader in credentialing, medical professional liability insurance solutions, and provider enrollment required a unified vision and the means to see that vision through. Recruiting the best people for the job to optimize synergy created a cycle of superior service that continues to drive tremendous growth. Their combined 100+ years of healthcare experience and skill sets have helped assemble one fantastic team. 63% of our team members have 10+ years of experience. Together, they have 385+ years of combined industry experience. 16,000+ providers have trusted us with their credentialing, MPLI, and provider enrollment needs over the past 20 years.

With our company’s founders at the helm, we can help reduce workloads and costs while speeding up the credentialing and provider enrollment processes. Having insightful leaders has worked to our advantage as we expand toward new horizons.

      Celebrating Growth

We have seen robust growth due to our recent technological and team member additions. Taking on numerous accounts does not just give us more work to do. It gives us more opportunities to show the industry that we are the one source for smarter credentialing, simpler provider enrollment, and better MPLI.

      Innovative Tech Growth

Upgrades to both internal and external credentialing tools have empowered us to increase capacity and continue to add new health plans and network partners. Primoris Credentialing Network now offers 54+ health plan and network provider enrollment options.

High tech credentialing solution with Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services

Primoris expanded into the Missouri and Illinois markets this past July, solidifying our position as the largest credentialing IPA in the Midwest. We can now accept applications for credentialing from any providers in those markets.

The expansion happened with the cooperation of Anders CPA + Advisors, one of our trusted partners. Furnishing multiple advisory services, Anders CPA + Advisors can also help healthcare providers obtain their licenses after completing credentialing and provider enrollment processes. The mutually-beneficial relationship can trigger more growth in the future.

We also anticipate being delegated with Aetna, United, and all major health plans in Missouri and Illinois soon.

      Positive Team Growth

We have added some game-changing team players within the past couple of years. Jillian Davis, Maddy Sardina, Jenny Nielson, and Myka Moore are among our additions. Their contributions have been outstanding.

        • Jillian Davis, CPCS, is the current Executive Director of Credentialing Operations. Recently promoted from CVO Director of Operations, Jillian has increased efficiency, improved team synergies, and enabled better internal credentialing processes.
        • CVO Specialist Maddy Sardina is one of our newest team members. She comes to us from California, bringing with her a tenacity to get the right results fast.
        • Jenny Nielson, CNA’s keen eye for detail, serves her well. As a Payor Enrollment Specialist, she knows how essential organizational skills can be. Her dependability and dedication fit perfectly with our company values.
        • Another of our newest members, Myka Moore, is a Payor Enrollment Specialist with a bright future to look forward to. We expect remarkable things from her and the rest of our team.

          More Awards

The number of satisfied providers we serve is only one way to gauge success. Awards are another. However, they have become so common that it is sometimes difficult to remember their value. Awards still validate a company’s products and services. They still lend credibility to company leaders and their teams. They are still worth working for.

Earning a distinction speaks to a company’s fidelity and work ethic, possibly raising a company’s reputation from lukewarm to white-hot. Our growth is marked by receiving awards. Our educational credentialing healthcare blog earned Aster and Healthcare Advertising awards this year.

          The Aster Awards

Founded in 2002, the Aster Healthcare Awards recognizes superior healthcare marketing messaging. The national competition sees entrants hoping to impress judges to win one of the most prestigious awards in the industry.

Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services and its family have won 4 Aster Awards, including one this year:

          The Healthcare Advertising Awards

As healthcare marketing has creatively and technically evolved, so have the standards. The Healthcare Advertising Awards, also known as the Healthcare AdAwards, honor national healthcare advertising efforts. With 4,000+ entries, the event is one of the largest in the United States. We won a 2022 Healthcare ADAward Silver Award for our healthcare blog, adding to its reputation as a reliable and respected medical industry news and information source.

Our previous Healthcare ADAward accomplishments include:

            • 2021 Healthcare ADAwards: Silver Award, in recognition of 5ACVO’s “Credentialing: Before & After” credentialing campaign
            • 2021 Healthcare ADAwards: Merit, in honor of Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services’ website refresh

            More Successful Audits

Audits are sometimes good, and our audits are victories! The audits we encounter help us increase the network options we offer our providers. 2 recent examples demonstrate our willingness and ability to improve our services.

            Credentialing Audits Passed at 100%

The first example concerns our HealthSmart audit. HealthSmart is one of the largest third-party administrators in the United States and the premier provider of customizable health plan solutions for self-funded employers. Co-founder Brad Bond, COO Donna Gaydos, Director of Data Integrity Management, and the entire Primoris team applied their knowledge to achieve an audit score of 100%. Their win allows them to be a preferred provider enrollment service company in the HealthSmart network.

The other notable example is the successful MultiPlan audit. For 4+ decades, MultiPlan has helped its clients save $19 billion+ annually via advanced healthcare cost management solutions. This audit evaluated Primoris’ adherence to certifying body standards, data management technology security, information handling policies, and roster quality. Primoris’ policies and procedures were found to be complete and meet all of MultiPlan’s requirements. Primoris’ victory allows them to enter a delegated agreement with the company.

With more audits on the horizon, Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services has the tech and team power to surpass all expectations.

            More Momentum

The Cambridge Dictionary defines momentum as the “force that keeps an object moving.” The dictionary elaborates on the definition, stating that momentum is “the quality that keeps an event developing or making progress after it has started.” Jim Feist, Guy C. Feist, Brad Bond, and Joe Spann started Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services. Their insights ignited the company’s position as a credentialing, provider enrollment, and MPLI leader. The team and technology they have gathered keep our company moving forward.

Progress requires keen guidance, able and willing people, and efficient tools. Progress is crucial in today’s business world. Companies must keep up with trends and technology to remain relevant and solvent. Ignoring change is not an option. Struggling through painful adjustment periods has its rewards. Progress builds expertise, character, and a new appreciation for everyone who makes our jobs easier.

We continue to focus on growth and excellence.

With the pandemic growing smaller in the rear-view mirror, we have learned that sweeping changes can occur without warning. Adopting new strategies to bring our clients seamless service fits our company mission. However, there is room for more. We have worked to stay the course despite global upheavals and enhance our operations. Any company can sustain its growth. We want to innovate and optimize the credentialing and provider enrollment landscape.

We have the tools and teams to keep our momentum going. We look forward to building a history of which we are proud. We want to thank all our family members who have made this possible.
