Fifth Avenue Spotlight on Bill Navarette, CIO of Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services

Reputations have power – and they are the result of everything we do. Companies can live and die by their reputations because the opinions of customers, peers, and competitors can influence the fortunes of a business.

Reputations govern how people are treated. Someone with a negative reputation might suffer professionally, while someone with a more upstanding reputation might reap rewards that are usually out of reach.

Bill Navarette, CIO of Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services, has a reputation, experience, and expertise that some dream of having. His peers described him as loyal, humble, and brilliant. He has a faithful servant’s heart, often demonstrated when busy with his work; he always takes the time to help a co-worker or client in need. He is the secret sauce to the technology employed at Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services family of companies.

“He’s the secret sauce for what we do. Without Bill, we would not be where we are today,” says Joe Spann, CEO of Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services. These words are not said lightly.

It takes more than other people’s opinions to create a reputation.

Jeff Bezos has said, “You earn reputation by trying to do hard things well.”

This is never truer than with Bill’s hard-won work on creating innovative technological solutions over the years, including his ongoing work with Fifth Avenue’s credentialing solutions. In Bill’s case, he has the credentials to back up his professional reputation.

Bill has leveraged 25+ years of technology leadership experience to create and launch high-tech solutions for multiple industries and companies. He carries within himself an enterprising spirit where he has not only created solutions but has successfully been a part of launching and seeing the successful exit of a tech startup. This spirit fosters resilience, flexibility, and persistence – significant ingredients for a winning formula.

Bill Navarette’s early years’ experience produced expertise.

After graduating from the Nebraska College of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Science & Programming and Systems Engineering, Bill worked with the US Navy and Ex-Cel Solutions as a Senior Application Developer. He worked for AERA, a defense contractor in the Pax River, Maryland area holding top security clearance while working for AERA and the US Navy. Bill worked for AERA and then Ex-Cel Solutions as a Sr. Application Developer until 1999.

Nebraska College of Business

In 1999, Bill became a Managing Partner and Senior Application Developer with Web Solutions Omaha, responsible for instituting company-wide standards and procedures. In addition, he was tasked with teaching modern staff technologies as they were developed. Administration, however, was not his sole responsibility.

$100,000,000 in annual transactions

Over the years, Bill has designed and developed a multitude of applications for an assortment of clients. His software includes a custom farm and recreational land auction system. This system managed $100 million in annual transactions and supported 160,000 users.

Iowa Supreme Court

Bill also designed and developed a secure system for the Iowa Supreme Court. This system allows users to publish and manage the publications of court opinions online. Over half a million visitors use the system every month. His work continued when he built a workflow system that governed and monitored the process of publishing Supreme Court and Court of Appeals Opinions.

eCommerce applications

He also created a proprietary content management system, a client-maintained E-Commerce application, and Touch Base client relationship software from scratch. He used his technical expertise and professional experiences to develop an E-Learning package to create a testing environment for companies to train and test their employees.

After working with the US Navy, Ex-Cel Solutions, and Web Solutions Omaha for over a decade, Bill set his sights on his next challenge. Bill joined forces with Joe Spann (CEO) and Brad Bond (COO) of Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services as CIO to use his expertise to make a positive difference in the healthcare industry. The knowledge he gathered over the past decade would be indispensable in this next role.

Using his current expertise to make a difference

Around 2010, Bill helped launch Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services and Primoris Credentialing Network. These companies use Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services’ proprietary software and 385+ years of combined industry experience to offer their clients a streamlined credentialing and provider enrollment solution with 54+ health plan and network provider enrollment options.

No stranger to building software from the ground up, Bill has created Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services’ CVO and provider enrollment technology that serves thousands of providers across the United States. Bill has been instrumental in launching complimentary credentialing, medical malpractice, and provider enrollment companies built upon a solid talent and technology base and is invaluable with the constant upkeep and revolutionary changes to keep moving our industry forward.

As CIO, Bill and his team are beta testing credentialing technology with selective groups that promise to be a credentialing game changer when made available to the public.

A reputation is not necessarily terrible – especially if it is a remarkable one like Bill’s. Bill Navarette and the companies and teams within Fifth Avenue that he helps succeed are proof positive of this.

The Fifth Avenue family of companies cannot flourish if not supported by a solid foundation.

Without Bill Navarette’s expertise, the Fifth Avenue Healthcare Services family of companies would not be the service leader with the reputation for innovation and excellence that Fifth Avenue is known for today. His knowledge and perseverance help ensure that the Fifth Avenue family is supported from the ground up.

Measuring a person’s reputation might be difficult, if not impossible. However, Bill’s accomplishments, continuing influence, and success can provide solid evidence of an exceptional reputation.
